Back from our excellent vacation in Italy and right into my training plan. The season will be more of a preparation for next season, but will be fun nevertheless. I will be starting the season off with a min-sprint at the Independence Triathlon at Nockamixon on the first weekend. It is pretty short but should be a good indicator of my off-season fitness levels. I used the off-season to build up to typical training times/distances as I would for a half-ironman, with the intention that our week and half vacation would provide adequate rest to start up again when I got back. The only thing I am worried about is that our vacation was pretty active with long days of hiking. Plugging that in to my TRIMP calculations shows it peaking out my fatigue levels a bit.
Each month has tri-related activities going on, the next only two major races this season. In June I will be doing a Tri Camp up in LP with Troy Jacobsen of Spinervals Fame. Should be a good indicator of how IMLP will be although still not doing it all in one day. In July, I will be heading back up to Lake Placid to volunteer for Ironman Lake Placid 2012 and then register for Ironman Lake Placid 2013. Should be motivating!
Anyway, here is the plan…
- June 3rd, Independence Sprint Triathlon
- June 21st, Lake Placid Triathlon Camp
- July 23rd, Ironman Lake Placid Volunteering
- July 24th, IMLP 2013 Registration
- August 12th, Steelman Olympic
- September 9th, Ironman Muskoka 70.3
Should be a fun season and will hopefully stay healthy and build for next year.
